As an avid reader and collector of information, I have through the years read hundreds of self-help type books, from the latest diet to how to practice gratitude, exercise to time-management, simplicity to abundance. I’ve watched expert videos on cholesterol, inflammation, vulnerability, Vitamin D and relationships. And with all that knowledge I gained through reading, watching videos, and listening to podcasts, I figured out everything I needed to change, quickly made those changes, and now live a perfect life.
Ha! Just kidding! I’ve figured a few things out, but I’m a firm believer in progress, not perfection. If all we needed was knowledge to change our health and wellness, Google would be sufficient. You may not know this, but changing habits is hard (all sarcasm intended). That little gem acknowledged, change is also totally possible and absolutely vital.

So if change is essential and knowledge alone isn’t enough to enact the changes we want to make, what is? Motivation? A gym membership? Accountability? Self-control? A new app? Scare tactics? The thing is, we are all unique, with different lives, bodies, hopes, and experiences. A regimented meal plan might be magic for one person, torture for the next. Getting up at 5 am for a brisk walk could be the catalyst for transformation for one, a guilt-inducing exercise in procrastination for another. Following a set schedule of writing 5 pages a day might feel just right, or it might be just burdensome.
